Weekly Pics, 27 August 10

A little early for my weekly photos but I'm leaving for the Rockies tomorrow morning with Amy Jo! So You guys get an early post.

Lots going on this week, just got my new iMac, Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3. Pretty busy just setting up my office and organizing everything. Takes awhile to find everything when you've been away for so long.

I did manage to go out yesterday morning and take a few photos. I took a drive to the Cold Lake marina in the morning to see if anything caught my eye. The lighting was already pretty harsh by the time I got there so I was just going to turn around and come back. As I was turning the truck around, I noticed one sunflower in the middle of a cliff by the water, perfect. So I'm glad I went out, I got a few shots that I like out of it. Also stopped at the beach on the way back, I liked the way the seagulls where all lined up in the background and there's just something about shooting the back of benches, they usually face something interesting.

So there you have it, I'll be in the Rockies until next Thursday! I'll try and post some pics up on friday.

The following two photos where taken yesterday at a car show in Cold Lake. Me and my buddy Bob just walked around for a bit and I took some photos when something caught my eye.

New Blog

Well, I just got back from Afghanistan, so now's a good time for me to start my blog. I've been wanting to start this for a while now but I don't think I was ready just yet. I'm still just beginning on my photographic journey but at least I now know in what direction I want to go. After trying a bit of everything for about a year and a half, I've come to the conclusion that nature photography is what I enjoy the most followed by portraiture, outside portraiture that is. Well, not too much else to say right now, just wanted to kick start this blog. It's going to be a bit rough at first until I get the hang of this, hopefully my writing will improve, thank god for spell check, ha ha. I'll put up some pics a bit later today.
